Frequently ask Medicare questions

You need to be a US citizen or legal permeant resident who has been in the US for at least 5 years and must be over 65 years old or have been deemed disabled by the Social Security Administration.

You can sign up for Medicare 3 months before the month you turn 65 to 3 months after. (Total 7 months)

Medicare late enrollment penalties are penalties applied if you do not sign up when you are first eligible for Medicare. You may have to pay a higher premium.

Simple answer is no you do not need to sign up for Medicare. Your health insurance through your employer is credible coverage and will not cause a penalty to accrue. But, we suggest to still talk with one of our agents to discuss your personal situation.

For health insurance, you can only usually change your insurance during the annual enrollment periods. However, you may qualify for a special enrollment based on your situation. Call our specialist to find out if you qualify for a special enrollment.
